Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Negombo
Activity: Bike fitting and tour briefing.
Hotel: Jetwing Sea
Meals: Breakfast
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to your beachside hotel in Negombo. After check-in, assemble the bikes and complete your bike fitting session. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax by the beach and recover from your journey while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of this coastal fishing town.
Day 2 – Negombo to Wilpattu
Activity: 50 km coastal cycling ride, Afternoon jeep safari at Wilpattu National Park
Hotel: Wild Wadi Wilpattu

Begin the first cycling day riding north along Sri Lanka’s scenic west coast. Pedal through fishing villages, coconut plantations, salt pans, and quiet countryside roads beside the beautiful Chilaw Lagoon. After completing the 50 km ride, transfer to Wilpattu for an exciting afternoon wildlife safari.
Day 3 – Wilpattu to Anuradhapura
Activity: 60 km cycling through villages and wetlands, Visit ancient temples and sacred sites

Today’s 60 km ride takes you through peaceful rural landscapes, traditional farming villages, wetlands, and the beautiful surroundings of Tabbowa Lake. Experience authentic village life and the tranquil atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s dry zone countryside. In the evening, visit the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Explore impressive Buddhist monuments including the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree and Ruwanwelisaya Stupa.
Day 4 – Anuradhapura to Sigiriya
Activity: 60 km village cycling through ancient irrigation canal routes

Cycle 60 km through the cultural heartland of Sri Lanka, passing paddy fields, irrigation canals, lotus lakes, and traditional farming villages. This scenic route showcases the ancient irrigation systems that supported Sri Lanka’s early civilizations. Arrive in Sigiriya surrounded by lush jungle and dramatic rock formations.
Day 5 – Sunrise at Lion Rock & Sacred Caves
Activity: Climb Sigiriya Lion Rock, Explore ancient frescoes and fortress ruins

Today is dedicated to exploring the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising dramatically above the jungle plains. Climb the famous Lion Rock and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. After sightseeing, relax at the hotel pool surrounded by tropical nature.
Day 6 – Village Roads & Forest Trails
Activity: 60 km Lakeside cycling, Visit Temple of the Tooth

Enjoy one of the most scenic rides of the tour as you cycle 60 km beside Kandalama Lake and through rural villages surrounded by forest and hills. After the ride, transfer to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. In the evening, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most important Buddhist temples in the country.
Day 7 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Activity: 50 km hill country cycling River, Tea plantation landscapes
Hotel: Araliya Green Hills Hotel

Ride 50 km through the lush hill country following sections of the Mahaweli River while enjoying beautiful mountain scenery and cooler temperatures. Tea plantations, waterfalls, and mist-covered hills create one of the most picturesque rides of the journey. After cycling, transfer to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England” for its colonial charm.
Day 8 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Activity: 50 km tea plantation cycling, Scenic hill country ride

Cycle 50 km around Lake Gregory and through beautiful hill villages surrounded by tea plantations and cloud forests. This region offers some of the finest mountain scenery in Sri Lanka. Continue to Ella, a relaxed mountain village famous for tea estates, hiking trails, and stunning viewpoints.
Day 9 – Explore Ella
Activity: Explore Ella on scenic train ride, Make your own Tea

Experience the traditions of Sri Lankan tea culture with an interactive tea estate experience. Pick fresh tea leaves directly from the plantation and learn the traditional tea-making process from leaf to cup using age-old techniques. Later, enjoy one of the world’s most scenic train rides from Demodara to Ella, passing through lush tea country and over the iconic Nine Arch Bridge.
Day 10 – Ella to Yala National Park

Descend from the hill country toward the southern plains while cycling 50 km through villages and countryside near the boundary of Yala National Park. After the ride, enjoy an afternoon wildlife safari in Sri Lanka’s most famous national park. Yala is known for its leopards, elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, and diverse wildlife.
Day 11 – Yala to Tangalle
Activity: 60 km coastal cycling, Fishing village experiences Lagoon and beach scenery
Hotel: Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort

Cycle 60 km along quiet coastal roads passing fishing villages, coconut plantations, lagoons, and golden beaches. The tropical scenery and ocean views make for a relaxing and enjoyable ride.
Day 12 – Tangalle to Mirissa
Activity: 50 km coastal road cycling, Beach and fishing village scenery
Hotel: LakRaj Heritage

Continue cycling 50 km along Sri Lanka’s southern coastline through beach towns, palm-lined roads, and small fishing communities. Arrive in Mirissa, a beautiful beach destination known for its relaxed atmosphere and turquoise waters. Later, visit the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring colonial architecture, charming streets, cafés, and oceanfront ramparts.
Day 13 – Mirissa Exploration
Activity: Whale watching excursion, Visit Galle Fort & Relax at the beach
Hotel: Lakraj Heritage

Enjoy breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 AM before hopping back on your bike for another scenic ride along Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Today’s 50 km journey from Tangalle to Matara is full of variety. You’ll cycle through peaceful villages, gentle coastal hills, and stretches of flat seaside roads, with the sparkling Indian Ocean often just a few pedal strokes away. The ride takes you past cinnamon and rubber plantations, lush paddy fields, and winding lagoons, with plenty of beautiful photo stops along the way. It’s a great mix of terrain—just enough climbing to keep things exciting, followed by rewarding downhills and flat stretches to cruise and enjoy the view. You'll reach Matara, a lively coastal town where colonial charm meets Sri Lankan tradition. Enjoy a well-earned seafood lunch and spend the afternoon soaking up the sun on the beach or exploring the local surroundings at your own pace. It’s another perfect day to relax by the ocean, swim, or simply enjoy the rhythm of life on the southern coast.
Day 14 – Departure
Meals: Breakfast
Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight, bringing an unforgettable Sri Lankan cycling adventure to an end.
